I really don't know what too much could be, I'm on the computer 12+ hours a day, probley more. I service it in my carpeted bedroom, propping it on my bed. I used to kick my old AT computer around! PHISICALLY KICK IT! I tinker with overclocking, blow videocards and I don't know what the hell I'm doing ;p. I trust my computer and it LOVES me -_-Vancore wrote:Not really, I've only had one bad hard drive since I've had a computer.. but my friend had at least 3 die on him withen the last two years or so. Not sure why, maybe he messes around on them too much.. but because of that I am thinking of investing in a flash drive for backup reasons. I've usually had two HD's which I store some of the same material on most of the time so I guess thats another reason for me being somewhat unconcerned.
So I guess you could say I'm not vigorously trying to backup my data, more on the lax side. I'm more worried about my program not crashing on me and losing an hours worth of editing then a HD failure.

I'm in the habit of pressing ctrl+s possibly 2-3 times a minute. I dont even realise I'm doing it half the time.Flint the Dwarf wrote:I don't think I've ever used ctrl+s. Auto-save, in addition to Premiere almost never crashing, is enough.Otohiko wrote:Hah, I'd be surprised if it isn't for everyone, especially the premiere users here!Castor Troy wrote:ctrl+s should be second nature now.

Same thing here.. I want that *-mark used as a "not saved after last edit"-indicator after the filename...GONE! ...and it goes away pressing ctrl+s ^_^b
Last time I lost a HD due to total crash was when I used P133-level PC as my main computer. I'm paranoid about losing projects, but don't do much about it

I also save after every edit because my cat has lost me 2-3 hours of work once by stepping on the switch on the power strip on my computer. its almost become habit..
plus occasionally Vegas will lock up on me. so saving after every edit has become habit...
other than that i dont fear system crashes as i keep my compy defragged and spyware free as much as possible.
