However, the fact remains that RIAA excercises no creative authority over the music, and there is no other authority in music - only in business.

I'm not saying that this is like identity theft. I was arguing the statement that the only thing that can ever be truly stolen is physical property, which is simply not true.

Just because piracy != theft does not mean piracy is legal.

Murder != theft, and murder isn't legal.
