Color Problem

I am having some probs with color. I am encoding Gunslinger Girl and the color does not come out so good. I have some pics but they are in bmp for lossless quality so you can see exactly what is wrong. If you look you can see how it looks bad when the colors collide. It seems that this has something to do with the script cause these are pics from the script, not compressed. In fact, the compressed looks exactly the same if not worse. Please help me, cause after this, I might be done with everything I need to be finished with this. If it is a filter, can you tell me the name of the filter and how to edit it please? The 1st and 3rd are the original with the deen noise removing filter in but no color change. The 2nd and 4th are when I change the color. In fact, the 1st and 3rd aren't that good either, and the reason why I am changing the color is because I feel it is too dull.

that's a fairly common problem.

just use AVIsynth, and bump your values up a bit

Um, the 2nd and 4th are duller than the 1st and 3rd.

But anyway, the color banding on gradients problem is often seen when using Deen in a2d or a3d mode -- try changing the mode to w2d or w3d instead, those are designed to handle gradients better.

I tried to change the script and open it in VirtualDubMod, but it said this.

"Avisynth open failure
deen: name list: 'c3d, 'a3d, 'm3d, 'a2d' or 'm2d'
(C:\My Music\Copy of ep1.avs, line 18)"

In other words, a3d works, but it doesn't recognize it when i put in w2d, so what should i do?

do you mean this

Tweak(cont=1.0,sat=2.0,bright=0, hue=0)

cause I already did that, and changing the color is what caused this. I don't know what to do.

Should I do a conversion to like YUY2 or RGB format? It seems as though i need something that can recognize color or something. To be honest, I dunno what to do.

There is another way if your familiar with After Effects, you can run it through that and use an Overlay layer, or Soft Light. It'll give it more vibrant colors, but also add more contrast, so be careful or you might get some really dark colors.

Just as an example I did it to both your 2, 3, and 4 pics (out of boredom)
