I'm just curious, and if you dont mind posting, i'd like to see people's cosplay costumes...of the one you've worn or wearing to the con. Heres a couple of ppl from a con called the pulpexpo.

I don't cosplay, but I wear a great red-and-white checkered blazer and striped bowtie.
"If someone feels the need to 'express' himself or herself with a huge graphical 'singature' that has nothing to do with anything, that person should reevaluate his or her reasons for needing said form of expression, possibly with the help of a licensed mental health practitioner."

Sure do! Every day of every con I go to I cosplay. It's just so fun to wear a costume at a con. I can't say that watching stuff in the theatres is easy with certain costumes but it still seemed worth it to me. (Ex. I watched the AMV contest at AX in my Ban Midou costume with the glasses on the whole time. It's not like I couldn't just take them off and save a little strain on my eyes, but I like to stay in character and without the glasses he's just another spiky haired face in the crowd.)
Sorry for going off in a weird tangent there, but in response to your question - Yes, I cosplay and have more fun for myself at a con by doing so.

I love AMV creators (not the ones in this thread necessarily) who are like "We make AMVs, which is cooler than cosplay, so we don't do it." I've seriously heard that. And to think, someone can have more than one hobby.
But to answer your question, I do cosplay at conventions ^_^ I tend to do stuff from the Utena series, like this year at Otakon, I will be rose bride Kozue (my first cross-play! eek!), and last year I was Miki.

I've cosplayed ever convention I've been too. Even my first Otakon. I went as a character I made up in my own mini series which I hope to get made up as manga one day. It's called Ultimate Wizard Battles. Then for the past 2 years I've been going convention as Gene Starwind and this year at Otakon I'll be going as Inu Yasha, with some unique features.
Cosplaying is a whole bunch of fun. People stop and take your photo. You can act in character. Plus people willn't know who you are unless you tell them so you don't have anything to worry about. Except maybe photos coming back to haunt you. (Sorry Skyshroud).

I was Kaoru Nagisa (from NGE) for parts of Otakon 2003 and 2004, and I'm thinking of going as the following someday (assuming I can get the necessary costumes):
- Kamui from X (TV)
- Seishirou or Subaru from X (TV)
- Vaughn from Escaflowne (TV)
- Midvalley the Hornfreak from Trigun (MANGA not anime)
