Spam IM's?

Lately, I have been bombarded by IM's from random usernames that start off with:
"Hi I'm from a-m-v.org", then they name a notable AMV username. The last one used "Otohiko", one used "Koop", and one even said "Kevin Caldwell" and they claim that that member sent them to me. Obviously since I don't personally know ANY of those users, I knew the person was lying. Then they proceed to beg me to join their DBZ forum, their website, some want me to buy products from them, and still others have asked for my home address and phone number. And when I block them, they do not appear on my block list (and sometimes I get repeat IM's from usernames that I have already blocked!)

Anyway, I did remove my AIM username from my AMV profile in an effort to stop future spamming, but is anyone else getting these? Or did I end up on some type of a-m-v.org spam mailing list?

Whoa. I get occasional random approaches from .org members, but never anything like that (and I can more than assure you that I never contacted you on AIM, nor would probably bother you or anyone in the first place unless I had something practical to say).

Oh, I'm certain that any of the members named had nothing to do with it.

ShaI3z was on last Wednesday, bugging a bunch of people; he wanted to find someone who could edit commercial-type and in-between videos for his internet TV station which would be broadcasting unlicensed anime 24/7.

But I don't think I ever saw him use Otohiko's or anyone else's name.

Odd. I know him, he approached me several times but I obviously don't have much to offer him. Perhaps it's the fact that I was polite (and genuinely so) that persuaded him that I'm somehow in a credible position to demand things of others... or something
