x2 MPC for me.rubyeye wrote:Media Player Classic: It's a little buggy at times, if you're trying to scrub your videos faster than your processor can handle, but it's the best overall because you can play Real Player and Quicktime files with it using the RealAlternative & Quicktime Alternative codecs.
I also use VLC to play some files, as it plays incomplete downloads. So I can see if Im downloading complete crap or not.

I still use WMP 6.5 for most videos, I use Media Player Classic for Quicktime and Real Media files (even though I do have Quicktime and RealPlayer on my computer; I sometimes use Quicktime to check the video settings on MOV files, though), and VLC for any troublesome files that may come along (broken AVIs, etc.).
I refuse to use newer versions of WMP or DivX player at all for videos. The only time I resort to WMP10 is for DVDs. For some reason I have more problems when RealPlayer or VLC try to play the things, but WMP10 seems to handle them just fine. Don't know what's going on there.

Media Player 6.4. It's hidden in your /program files/windows media player folder as mplayer2.exe (yes, even you crazy people running WinXP). Direct access to codec settings, no load time, no ugly menu. Gotta love it.

I like using WinAmp, mostly for all it's extra features. mu computer is fast enough so it doesn't normally lag or error out on me. before that I would use WMP 10, but it had so many bugs I had to ditch it. most vids it would tear the synch between video and audio. though I do miss the little toolbar for it that allowed me to watch it in a mini viewer on my toolbar while I was surfing
if I ever found out WinAmp had that I'd be in heaven
