If my studio mate is not entering the contest but I am,

1) should I list her on the list of "Full (Legal) Names of Group Members"?
2) if yes to 1), do I have to get her signature for the "Group Member Signatures"?
Hmmm.... well, unless your studio mate wants credit for the video you're entering, then you don't need to list their name. It'll be awarded to "Person A" of "Group C", as opposed to "Group C" including "Person A & B". Essentially, just list the people who made the video. MTT does this a lot, since they all work separately a lot, so we've dealt with it before.

That's part of it. We burned a lot of coasters last year sending out the Pro contest, and burned OUT three DVD burners under ideal conditions. The mass production of discs broke down rather badly partway through the process and we were having trouble getting two good discs out for every three we put in (or worse). Even then, some crap ones slipped through. Part of the DVD problem we were hoping to address by decreasing the volume with the dual-layer discs. We really can't afford to break three DVD burners again. (Refunds don't do much good when you've got two days to finish burning that many discs.)

Oh yeah, 'cause those never break. For $300 we can get 4 or 5 DVD burners, have all but one break and still finish the DVDs. Considering how much the server went over-budget, I'm scraping at pennies here. You wanna pony up the cash for new hardware? Be my guest.

Talk to Wayne. This is why I hate answering tech questions. Everyone knows how to do every job better, and I don't have the answers on hand to give our reasoning in proper detail.

lol well I was mostly joking. I will however talk to wayne. I kinda wanna talk techie stuff with him and see what he is doing this year as far as all that kind of stuff goes. I can offer my own burner for distrobution if that will lighten the load any.

Quick question; I know the deadline for entries is the 25th, is that also when the form and DVDs must be received ? I ask only because I plan on submitting via FTP, so the box with the form + DVDs and the video itself will likely not be received exactly simultaneously.

We greatly prefer to get the paperwork and disks before the deadline, but if you give us notice beforehand, then the stuff can be a little late. Take note, however, that if we don't get the paperwork and disks at all before the judging copies get sent out, then the video is still in the contest, but you wouldn't get the judging copy. (The signature isn't for entering, technically, but for judging.)

Nah, it'd be hard enough just to get a box with only the right number... That was really only a concern for the VHS tapes since someone sent us a repeately-reused tape one year that came apart in the VCR.

Yea, I know that all too well! I got a submission into one of my contests once where the tape fell apart in my hand
