A lot of creaters, including myself, make Live Action/Non-Anime Music Videos, it's just they can't be shown here. With the acception of the "Live in 05" contest ran by Khameleon, and original animation made by an editor, there is almost zero tolerance for non-anime material on the org now and days.

There's plenty of places to host now, anyway...
Non-AMV's can be fun. And even more interesting is seeing your work in a context outside of the AMV community.
Frankly, I've been quite shocked by my recent mostly-non-AMV foray - because it received more downloads and praise in a couple of days after release than all my AMV's combined

The Birds are using humanity in order to throw something terrifying at this green pig. And then what happens to us all later, that’s simply not important to them…

Oh yeah? Got a link to a few? I've been editing non-A MVs before I found this place. The funny thing is that the techniques and styles I was exposed to here will really help my other projects. I still enjoy working on AMVs more though.Otohiko wrote:There's plenty of places to host now, anyway...

Well, there's two ways of hosting a non-AMV.
1) Use a free hosting service. The best one I know of right now is Rapidshare.de - which allows up to 50mb, without any registration. The only issue with it is that some people can't always use it properly due to tricky proxy setups their ISP's use. (...and some people can't find the "Free" button on it, too...)
2) The better but trickier way: find a dedicated community server for whatever it is that you used for your source. For instance, if it's a video game, find a community centred on that game; same if it's a movie or something like that. There usually are people on there who would be more than willing to host it for you. If they like it, they will even promote it! (...which they've certainly done in my case...)
