Methinks you need a progam like Adobe Photoshop or Macromedia Fireworks or something similar to resize without cropping. (correct me if I'm wrong)

not to necropost, but I was thinking today that it'd be damn convenient if IU could have one image for both here AND livejournal instead of having to shring for here.  Couldn't we expand the DIMENSIONS of the avatars here to 100x100?  It's not unreasonable.  Seriously.  I think most sites do 100x100 and are just fine.  I'm not usually one to care about such things, but I was thinking today, as I was making some LJ icons, that it'd be handy.  That's all.
