Image Transparency Format for Premiere 6.5
Just wondering, is there an image format that Premiere will reconize to have transparent sections? Or, am I stuck with green screening everything? I've been fiddling with formats but haven't found one that works for me... and if it matters, I'm using Jasc Paint Shop Pro 8.
Thanks for any insight on this.

PSD. I think PNG and GIF work as well; not sure about TIFF.BigDude wrote:Just wondering, is there an image format that Premiere will reconize to have transparent sections? GIF should be avoided -- its idea of transparency is binary (i.e. transparent or opaque), and is woefully insufficient for anything but the most trivial applications. PNG is far superior in this respect, as it has a real alpha channel.Scintilla wrote:PSD. Targa bitmaps also support alpha channel, although a lot of applications screw it up.

I've used .tga and .png files successfully in Premiere Pro and Pro 1.5 for transparent effects and overlays.
Life's short.
