Non-anime AMV's
I recently made an AMV of Ren and Stimpy... is it allowed to be posted here on AMV's.org? and has anyone else made AMV's that are not made with anime?
and btw, before you say "Heh, idiot, non-anime music videos are not posted here! IT'S ANIME MUSIC VIDEOS.ORG! YOU MADE THAT VID FOR NOTHING! YOU'RE A FREKKIN MORON! XD!!!" I noticed some AMV's with non-anime footage availible through out the site, so I just got curious, tis-all...

Since I do not wanna triple post, here is the current problem here http://i33.photobucket.com/albums/d55/M ... roblem.jpg

Report them to the Mod Drop Box, please!Marcman2020 wrote: I noticed some AMV's with non-anime footage availible through out the site, so I just got curious, tis-all...
There is no such thing as a non-anime AMV, as per this site's rules.
On the other hand, check this thread if you're looking for hosting. It's much easier to find a way to get your non-anime videos to people nowadays...

The Birds are using humanity in order to throw something terrifying at this green pig. And then what happens to us all later, that’s simply not important to them…

Oh, and if you're wondering what the rule is - it's somewhat vague, but basically it states that MOST of your footage has to be anime. There's no set figure because setting a figure might encourage abuse - so, what's judged is the content rather than an amount. If there is no anime (which, according to the rules, is Japanese-produced and -marketed animation) in the video, then it does not belong. If there is some anime in the video... that's not entirely a reason to upload it yet.
For instance, I recently made a video that's only 1/3 anime footage, and still didn't upload it here. Because I think it doesn't belong, and I think the admins would agree.

What do you mean by "post it"?
Generally, no, if it's completely non-anime, it is generally something that doesn't go on the site or the forum, with some exceptions (like threads about non-AMV's) - though, for instance, you're welcome to advertise it in your signature.
If it has some relation to anime, it might be wise to catalogue and announce it on the site, but not host it here (as I recently did).
You can't add non-anime to the catalogue though. If you do, it's only by lying in the video description (namely, the source listing), and that generally results in the suspension of your uploading priveleges.

if it's all ren and stimpy or any non-anime, you can't create a video entry on this site, or make an announcement about it here. you can link it in your member profile, journal, or forum signature though.

I didn't know that announcements were also banned; as long as it isn't cluttering up the site catalog or on the local server in violation of the rules, it seems like anything of interest to AMV viewers is up for announcement. If it's a rule, though, I'm not really against it.downwithpants wrote:if it's all ren and stimpy or any non-anime, you can't create a video entry on this site, or make an announcement about it here.
