Removing "Jitter"

I'm working with an older anime that apparently has "jitter" left in it from the source footage -- most likely due to a transfer from video to digital media.

Is there an easy way to remove the "jitter" effect?

(I'll take even a hard, time-consuming way, if it will get rid of the jitters.

)

Mess with the motion settings every frame?

You might also try the motion stabilizer in AE... even though I never used it, so I don't know how hard it would be
