(Which Categories?) A-kon AMV Contest 2006

Post by rubyeye » Wed Jun 08, 2005 8:22 pm

Forgive me for starting a new thread but I felt since this was such a central issue with everyone that it would be best to get everyone's input on it seperate from any other issues.

I am trying to compile a list of Categories we can have for the contest and I need everyone to share exactly which ones we should have. ALSO, if they should be individual or grouped (such as Drama/Romance, or Action/Horror) - any video can encompass multiple "categories" so please help me out in deciding the right ones.

If you think Sub-Categories: (Honorable Mention, Judges' Choice, People's Choice, Runner's Up and Finalists) should be included, let us know!

I think the top 3 finalists of every catagory should be definitely included. 3 is a good number, where as 5 would be a little much.

I also think that grouping of the catagories is a bad idea. If one video wins more than one award, so be it, but I don't think its good to automatically group awards even if 90% of the qualifying videos qualify for the other. Drama/Romance, Sentimental/Romance, Character Profile/Drama, ect.

Main Catagories:

Action
Drama
Romance
Sentimental
Horror
Character Profile
Comedy
Parody

Sub Catagories:

Best of Show (Fan Favorite)
Judges Choice (Judge Favorite)
