I will be going. It's my first Virginia con, as a Virginian. I just moved to Roanoke VA from Ohio last October.
I hope more people plan to attend than just us
I not only reserved the hotel room today, I also submitted my video over the FTP. I really look forward to it, since I won't make Otakon this year. This is it for anime cons for me this year.

I've been to about 7 or 8 anime conventions in my time, and I like the little cons a lot more than some of the big cons.
At Sugoicon in Ohio, I liked talking to the hotel staff about the opinion of the con...a look at the outsider opinion of cosplay and fanboys/girls.
You can't get an intimate cozy feel when there are hundreds of thousands of people milling about. Plus the bigger cons get, sometimes the bigger the power struggles and problems.

This will be my 2nd convention this year of the 5 I plan to go to. This will be my first Anime Mid Atlantic and I am looking forward to it. We should arrange something where creators can meet up with each other. I don't know the area so if anyone can recommend a good place to eat, maybe we can all hang out friday night.

If someone in Roanoke is missing, it's probably because they are STILL driving home.
Maybe it's because I am used to big city driving, but the folks around here merge into traffic by slamming on the brakes. They signal left, then turn right. They drive in the turn lanes and then drive straight into the shoulders seemingly unaware their lane ended. They drive in the right most merging lane and act suprised as hell when people drive off the ramps.
Yes, indeed they are sleeping at a traffic light as we speak.

That was a North Carolina island that people disappeared from. I can assure you the city I am in, is completely land locked.
