can someone please show me in the forum rules where it states you cannot post urls of sites that contain video clips

There shall be no posts containing or on how to obtain warez, crackz, serialz, emulators, porn/hentai, bootlegs, or illegally obtain downloadable anime episodes, music, or any other sort of copyrighted material. You will be banned without warning for such posts.

Unless you got them from the official company website with an official written permission from them to host them on your site, then yes they are illegal. Technically, AMVs on this site are also illegal. The Legality of it in this case is irrelevant. The point is its against THIS SITE's rules, of which the owners of THIS SITE, is intitled to make and enforce as they see fit.

if it was legal then it wouldn't break the forum rules so that is the relevance if it is specific to their rules they i wish they would specify that they would not like sites posted thta contain downloadable footage for amvs

You're missing the point. The person who runs this site has stated in the site rules that there are to be no links to "warez, crackz, serialz, emulators, porn/hentai, bootlegs, or illegally obtain downloadable anime episodes, music, or any other sort of copyrighted material." You either abide by the rules, or have them enforced.

the thing im saying is how is anyone to be sure of its legality and if all this stuff is illegal how come no one has been busted on it that ive heard of but its not my forum whoever runs it can do whatever the hell they want if they want to ban any url for any reason they can just say 'i dont like you posting your site that has video clips because it encourages ppl to download footage instead of buying dvds and ripping themselves' instead of saying that it breaks a rule that is not specifically clear. and how would u determine a 'multitude' of clips? more than a certain number cuz i know a lot of sites that have clips that u would probably ban lets see if my url shows as:

then this site should definately be banned:
