Would you continue a amv if someone else had did the idea?

Heh, I don't think it'd matter...

I still try to use original music and from what I've seen and done, should someone have made a vid before me, I just hope to miracula that my vid would come out just plain better

[and thankfully, multiple vids I've made has had people 'famous' make vids as well to the same song and from what I've seen, I think I did better

]

But again, if you think you're sure to flunk and your vid would just end up being a "ripoff" then guess what, it already is before you even made it...

I'm surprised that when I started the Feel the Rhythm series, I hadn't recieved flak from any of the ddr project people seeing as I was using the WAYYY ahead ddr songs... But in the end, I liked the vids I made to those ddr songs better than the ones made on the earlier ddr project vids.... But that's just my taste, nothing too spazzy or anything...

So just make the vid damnit! It's no longer feasible to say "oh no, maybe it's not original..."

DBZ + Linkin' Bark anyone? Nobody's gonna stop them, why should you stop? ^_^

I never thought it was a flunk strangely tohught i'm listening to the song right now and I actually got some motivation back.Also thanks for your post.

I'd say go for it! if someone else already had the idea then obviously its a good one. and also if ur still motivated don't let someone else stop u!

I'd do it definately.

The only thing that would probably stop me is the coincidence that not only was the song/combo used but I can see my proposed video in theirs as well (same choice of scene selections and stuff).

I've made an AMV using a combo that has been used before. But the direction I wanted to take with mine was different enough so that it didn't discourage me from going ahead with it.

I agree with bum that it takes more than the anime and song to make a concept.

However, if I do see that somebody's done the same general concept as I have before, I watch the video and see if it "satisfies my vision," so to speak. If not, I go ahead and keep editing.

I've decided some day when I feel like being a bastard I've decided to look through the catalog for something that's not up to my standards and just improve it lol.... maybe, it's one of my ... goals.

just don't name it vegeta's way (the same thing). In fact the only time I would go 'out of my way' is by avoiding ever naming something the same as somebody else's amv name. It's just hard to search for.
