Dosu cosplay suggestions?

Hey guys, this year at Anime Expo, I really want to cosplay as Dosu from Naruto, and I can think of ways to get everything I need, except for that big furry thing he wears on his back. I REALLY have no idea what to use for such long hair, or where to get it!

Anybody have a good idea?

Most craft stores sell synthetic fur. Finding some that thick might be challenging though...bum around any craft/costume shops you can find in the area, show 'em the picture, and ask if they can get ahold of any fur that thick. Another idea: synthetic doll hair from a craft store, though it might be too thin to hold up well if you glued it to something and tried to stand it up. I'm not sure.
