Anime presented by Disney
This is something I thought I would never see. An anime movie translated and presented by Disney. The movie is Spirited Away. I've never heard of it before, so I was surprised to see it. My friend said he saw a commercial of it, so I checked it out and sure enough, it was there. Here's the website for it. http://bventertainment.go.com/movies/sp ... ndex2.html

I'm amazed that it's possible to create two of the same link at the same time. It hought the Org had stopped that.
Anyway, yeah I heard. I haven't been proud of anything Disney has let out though. Disney seems to think Anime is it's great competition and won't release any anime they license on at a large scale.
Anyway, I'm checking it out the same way I have checked out many other anime. I just installed WinMX, it looks swell.

The thing was that I was impatient with my slow internet. So, when it wasn't loading, I pressed the submit button again, and again. Finally it showed up, but one too many. Gotta have more patience.Lyrs wrote:I'm amazed that it's possible to create two of the same link at the same time. It hought the Org had stopped that.

Totoro was released by Fox before the Ghibli/Disney deal.Garylisk wrote:Disney has been releasing Studfio Ghibli's titles for a long time. They released Totoro
By the way, here's a transcript of a recent press interview with Hayao Miyazaki and Toshio Suzuki.

I guessed you showed me my ignorance.Garylisk wrote:Disney has been releasing Studfio Ghibli's titles for a long time. They released Totoro, they released Kiki's Delivery Service, they released Princess Mononoke... It's no biggie.

By the way, I thought Princess Mononoke was released by Alliance Atlantis films. Guess I was wrong.

Aren't they primarily a distributor/broadcaster? They do some production, but it doesn't seem like much:Anime Jedi wrote:By the way, I thought Princess Mononoke was released by Alliance Atlantis films. Guess I was wrong.

And if you want to get technical, I think Princess Mononoke was theatrically released under Disney's Miramax label. Yeah... I just checked. Here's more information on the Disney-Tokuma deal if you're interested:

So... one company releases, another distributes. This is getting confusing. And Miramax is a Disney corporation. See, I didn't know that either. Don't worry, at this pace, I've only got 50 years to become an anime sage.dokidoki wrote:Aren't they primarily a distributor/broadcaster?
