Would you continue a amv if someone else had did the idea?

It really just depends.
Like right now, I am doing a song that literally only has 11 people who have used it (or at least have downloadable versions of it) and none of those are with the Anime I am using it for.
Heck the only version of it I think is any good is an old Sailor Moon version with *terrible* capture. So mine will be pretty (since I own the DVD's and can rip straight from there) and will have a new set of graphics to do the text I need.
So to make a long story longer, there is one 2 year old version of what I am doing out there. I know I can simply do it better (although I enjoyed the older one).
Can you do what ideas have been done better is the real question. My idea is fresh enough it isn't an issue (especially since everyone and their mother hasn't done it at some point on this site.
Is that the way your is?

Thanks.Rozard wrote:I say fuck it. If you want to edit the video, what's stopping you? It's not like you can't do something because it's already been done. Edit the video because you want to edit it, and don't stop becuase it's been done before, or someone had the same idea. So what?

I personally have a thing against doing videos w/ combos that have been done a million times (or even more than once or twice.) So usually when the video is still just an idea, i will go in and see how many people have done that combo. If too many people have done it, I'll scrap the idea and move onto my next one. If it's an idea that I'm absolutely in love w/ and I feel I have to do, I'll make the video, then watch the other ones (particularly if it got good reviews or is by someone well known.) If I think mine conveyed the song in a different way (Not necessarily better than the other vid. Just diffreent.) or if I think it's *gasp* better than the other one(s), I'd upload it to the site. If I think theirs conveys the same idea as mine, then I wouldn't upload it. I'd just keep it for my own pleasure and probably put it on my website. Just not here. But I'm one of those freaks who always has to be different and will go out of my way to be different. But it's your video, you should do what you want w/ it.

In fact, I'm thinking of an idea with the same song/anime that someone else did. Let's just say I'm paying homage to the original creator
