Who reads video descriptions?

Post by Gallup » Fri Apr 22, 2005 5:38 am

I alwasy make it a habit to read the description of every video that I read, but I have noticed that not everyone seem to do this. It can get extremely frustating when someone makes a comment about not understanding something that was explained within the vid description. Am I the only one that reads these or are their others as well?

I read video descriptions upto a point. Some just seem to go on and on to the point where reading them would take more time than watching the vid. With thoughs, I just skim through them.

I skim them to see more or less what they are about. I don't really read all the technical details. Yesterday I downloaded a yaoi/shounen-ai video without reading the description ahead of time, so I was a bit shocked. But yaoi/shounen-ai does NOT bother me, therefore I was not offended.

I generally enjoy reading them, as they'll usually offer some sort of insight into the video.

Unless 95% of the notes are just the song lyrics, in which case I skip them. I do have working ears.

UNLESS the lyrics are a translation of a vital song, and knowing the translation is super vital for understanding the video. Otherwise, I just use my ears.

I read the whole thing 95% of the time, only exceptions being the few that run on so long I have to scroll a whole bunch. I go back to those as necessary, if I need/want to know more.

Plus when I read long ones, I would like for them to be broken off into paragraphs for easier reading.
