Country Music AMVs

I was just wondering why there weren't more of them. There are a lot of good country songs out there that would make great AMVs, but nobody does them. I'd make them myself, but 1, I have no source material, and 2, I have no program capable of stripping the footage/music. Which really sucks, because I have an over-active imagination and no way to get the ideas out of my head. Stupid imagination... *bang head against desk repeatedly*

I've wanted to do some but never had the material for shows I thought fit. Country music doesn't match the 'kids' in most of my anime. I think it might be tough to work with such a different music style too.. Other than the most obvious/popular music styles, people seem to have trouble figuring out how to make it work with the music. (reason I think all polka videos fall flat)

I have been thinking about doing a country video lately. My friend just introduced me to Garth Brooks and I think that I might try and make a video with one of his lesser known songs.

Oooh, which song, Gallup? When you get it done, I'll definitely download it! I'm a major Garth Brooks fan; own three of his CDs. Chances are, I love the song you're planning to use.

Thought I would let you know that I uploaded one the other day that I made a looooong time ago. It's to Lee Roy Parnell's "If the House is Rockin'"... featuring Kodocha. I have been thinking of another one using some Brooks and Dunn. I'll let you know when it's done!

I will be sure to make an announcement Dream-chan. I was thinking of using the song Ireland by Garth Brooks. It is a realy slow and long, but pretty. I just don't know exactly what anime I could use for it. Any ideas?

I was also thinking of doing The Dance with a video about Serena and Darien. This will deffinetly be an adventure for me because this will be my first country AMV.

*cue fangirlish squeals* I LOVE THAT SONG!!!!!!!! *glomps Gallup* I love you! I've always wanted to see an AMV to Ireland! Unfortunately, I don't get to see much in the way of non-mainstream anime, so the only one I can think of is Gundam Wing, and there are a lot of lines that would be hard to illustrate using that one... Especially the beginning, not to mention the verse about the captain... No, wait! That scene where Trieze bites it! No, wait... that doesn't make much sense... Oh, well. Sorry I couldn't be more help. I'll try to think of other anime for you, okay?

Actually..there are more out there than you think. Doing a search for Garth Brooks alone gives you 67 vids total with 20 of them available for download.
There were 9 for Toby Keith, 1 for Big and Rich, 10 for Johnny Cash..and I know there is at least one out there for Jerry Reed because I did it

Now..as to wether or not any of them are any good..you'd just have to download them and see. As for why aren't there more of them..Country music usually has very specific lyrics since most try and tell a story. It makes it harder to match up anime to them because most anime doesn't have a whole lot of western/country themes to them. Doesn't mean it can't be done..just means you may have to work a little harder at the video.

Wow Dreamchan, and here I thought that no one knew about Garth Brooks Ireland. Guess I was wrong. Anyway the lyrics don't have to match exactly since I could always use symbolism. I have listened to several country songs and it seems to me that one reason that county AMV's are not as popular is because some of the lyrics are hard to find scenes for. I don't see this as a problem though, just a really big challenge that I must overcome, or try to anyway. How sucessful I am is a different story.
