Well I've finally gotten started on that recruiting I promised and so far it's going very well. Coffee 54 should be joining us soon to help start patching up the last few gaps in our layout. Speaking of which, if any of you havn't seen "Face of the Enemy" you should check it out.

I'll continue the recruiting and keep you guys posted.

I'm Coffee 54 and I'm reporting for duty.

Sorry, I couldn't figure out how I should begin this post and all I could think of was old John Kerry slogans. Anyway, I'm glad to be a part of this project. Track wise I'd be willing to take all or part (perferably the first minute or so) of 10:08 - 12:50 section and or any one of the open character profile spots in the 6:30 - 8:17 section. My anime selection is pretty small, but can be expanded to fit the project if I think what I've got won't cut it.

the character profile sports are taken, but 10:08-12:50 is empty so take it if penpen aproves. Read through the thread, this mev's specifications are a bit tighter than most others. basicaly their needs to be some sort of narative. Other than that, good luck and welcome aboard.

Just the one spot is taken, that section is split up into 4 mini segments. Actually it might not be a bad idea to skim through the thread and get an idea of where we stand.

10:08- would be great. That section really should have been split into 2 (notice how it has 2 names...) but I couldn't decide where to put the line so listen to it a few times and try to plan out the video and where ever you feel is a good stoping point we'll find someone to fill the rest (I wouldn't be supprised if the organ section is the last to go, it's a tricky segment to be sure.)

Once you have an idea of what you want to do, post it in this thread so we know where we stand and can give feedback and whatnot.

Will do. I've been skimming the thread, though it'll take me some time to get through everything. I should be able to come back with some ideas for you within a couple of days.

EDIT:
Ok, 18 very long pages down. More to come when I have some solid ideas, though I am thinking of shifting my focus from the first minute of the 10:08 - 12:50 segment to the last minute or so. I think I might have a concept that could work well here.

Update form me:

1) Possible concept for my section. My source footage would be Kare Kano, episode 16. The video would follow the developing relationship between two people. From childhood friends, through middle and high school, to marrage. I believe this fits the theme of the project well and I don't think the concept has been taken up by any of the other editors. (note: I could be wrong though, 18 is a lot of pages, if I missed something let me know.)
I'm not sure where it'd fit best, at 10:08 - 11:00, the music moves slower and could fit the video source better. However, if I use 11:00 - 12:50, I can carry the story all the way to the birth of their first child. That I think would work really well with the cry at 12:48. Anyway, let me know what you all think on the matter. Will it work, or should I look in another direction.

2) Betas. Where do I go to get my hands on the betas that are already out? I'm curious to see what has already been done on this video.

3) What is the status of the 6:30 - 8:17 character profiles, are they all taken, or just the third by Kalium. If there are any open, I'm still willing to take one.

1) Childhood friends to marrige? That fits amazingly well. The idea of brining it to the birth of their child effectivly completes an entire generation. If it workes out it could be even more comprehensive than Otohiko's excelent intro secuence. Needless to say I'm very exited about this idea and in retrospect I'm supprised that I wasn't pushing to have a marraige somewhere in the project. I'll listen to the song again and see if I can give some advice on which section.

2) I have a full length by Oto, a possible final by Kalium, and a begining from Bum. I just moved my computer so my FTP is down at the moment but I'll send them to you or you could check Kalium's FTP (don't have the info on me right now.)

3) Kalium just did the third section, so there are still some openings.

Penpen, ya got any sort of due date for this? I'm having a bit of trouble with mine. Mainly a mix of extended editors block and me totoaly sucking at editing fast paced music.
