Warning: Banner Nazi on The Loose!

Post by Sepuki » Wed Mar 30, 2005 3:03 am

Whee! I got a visit from the Banner Nazi tonight! He/she/it left me lots of slurs and curse words under my AIM window, for I've been a very naughty banner maker indeed!

>_<.

http://www.livejournal.com/~sepuki/80719.html <- Teh log. This is rich. (Warning: four letter words, netspeak, and stupidity ahead.)

lol, I like this guy. And you should be honored, this guy is a lot more coherent than lots of other angry people I've seen around this site. I don't know why you wasted your time on him, though.

Also, there was no need to post this here and in the mod box. He has every right to privately contact you to complain about your creation, just as you have every right to claim artistic freedom to make whatever you feel like. If he came here on the forums to specifically attack your banner, that's one thing. But drawing attention to him as "the bad guy" because he had a problem with your banner is more rude and inconsiderate than what he did in my book.

Sorry for the double post.

I'd go one further to say that he was speaking from the heart where as you were being outragously fake with your stupid smilies and innapropriate faux-courtesy. Your entire dialiog wreeks of pre-fabrication. I'd be very interested to see how long it took you to respond to each of his points.

The "*chucksles*", the "I don't deserve a reward for being nice to an attack?", to the "Thank you, and never fucking mesage me again.", all just wreeks of fake. The final line made me laugh out loud, not for its humor, but rather that you thought it would be a real zinger to do a fake setup of a lame retort like your some kind of stand up comic and then immediately close the dialog after it droped.

And calling someone "Dear" over and over doesn't make you look smart or intelligent, just arrogent and lame. I used to think calling someone a term of endearment as a condescending joke was cool too, untill I turned 12.

I suppose I can agree with the fact that amvs and banners fall under the niche: "Hey, I can make one too!".

So we end up with a nasty influx of fugly amvs with banners included... There's no "how to make your first banner" thread and there's no need of one really.

I for one think there's just WAYYY too many banners flooding in. I keep voting for new ones every 5 mins! And sadly, 90% of them are teh suk...

Still, you can't really leave opinions for banners and what's more, once I started reading that chat copy, I got very very sleepy...

:?

What is this?
"Strength lies in action. Let the weak react to me..." - Kamahl, Pit Fighter from Magic: the Gathering
"That is a mistake many of my enemies make. They think before they act. I act before I think!" - Vortigern from Merlin ('98)
"I AM REBORN!" - Dark Schneider Bastard!! OAV

Flint: I wasn't upset because someone didn't like one of my banners - I mean, o noes, god forbid. I was upset because of their incredibly rude way of going about it.

In retrospect, though, you're right; I didn't need to post the log link here. <: /. What can I say - it was very early morning and I was pissy. I don't see the use in deleting the post now, though.

Beo: o.o I really wasn't being fake. I was angry, yeah, but I wasn't about to unleash on some n00b, ya know? There was definately no "setup" for any "zinger." O.o.

Also, you can see how long my "pre-fabricated" replies took, you know. Timestamps are your friend.

Sepuki, I'm glad you did post the log. You are not the first person he has contacted because he didn't like a banner. He sent another member a threatening email to not make banners again yesterday too (simply because the banner didn't contain an image he liked).

Unfortunately flint is right that because this was done in private then there's nothing to be done about it. If, however, he extends his threatening flames by putting thme on the org then action will be taken.

@beowulf - nobody asked for your opinion on instant messaging writing skills.

God damn, the sea of RIP avatars made me think it was the same person posting over and over again. Lord knows what sort of insanity would have ensued if farlo came in... :P

Well, I do have to agree with one of the commenters, and that you are very patient. I would have screwed with him, or something like that. I can't stand
