Well, from the start, I wasn't trying to debate the issue to try to get by that rule. I was just expressing my disapointment, but acceptance that these are the rules for this contest. As for the other comments, it just seems to be taking the issue of if the movie should be considered anime, which I admit is somewhere in a grey area. Anyway, like I said, I do have another video I might possibly send in, so I'm not really bothered by the siuation. Sorry this thing ended up going somewhat off topic.
Final Doom "Amazing things will happen here soon."

Neon Genesis Evangelion: Substance "Everyone knows that it's a dangerous substance."

Why thoughts are going back and forth is easy. I can (as can everyone else) accept that the source is not allowed, I'm just trying to find out why this particular source (which is predominantly japanese animators using CG) is not allowed where another source like FLCL (japanese animators doing everything in CG) is not :)

I'm not criticising anyone for the decision, I was just debating to understand the reason for it and stating a case for the source incase it hadn't been considered. The reason "Just because" is fine :)

er well, I'd like to say, I did post a different question here abd it got lost in the mix... Anyway my question was, my video has the intro words to my anime (you know, just the title) not technically the opening or ending credits just the title of the anime itself. I was wondering if that was considered credits.

That should be OK; is it actually part of the video, though, or is it just the title of the anime...? Because all of our title cards list the editor, source footage, audio, etc... there's no point for anyone to introduce their source footage by ways of text or title screen in the video, itself :)

yes, it is the title of the anime itself, not a title card wich is, what I think is, considered uncool, just the title of the anime. like if it was dbz, the dragon wraped around the words dragonball z or if it was read or die the papers and the words read or die, also it is part of the 5:05 video. I'll be checking this thread rather constantly over the next 5 days ;p thx for answering. (and ignore the sentance I edited out if you caught it lol, I thought the due date was the 15th)

It's also ironic that resident evil(the video game series) is considered a non anime source. Personally i allways viewed FF and resident evil as something for game music videos though if Final Fantasy is anime then logically resident evil is also anime.

My question is, if i subbmit a resident evil music video will it be disqualified?
This has no relevence to the discussion above it

Just bumping to say that there is a single month remaining until the in-our-hands May 20th deadline for the contest :).

Full rules and submission form can be found over on the official AnimeNext website.

And remember, if you're working on any parodies/trailers, AnimeNext has a specific category for them, this year! We want your work! :D
