He was one of the main supporting characters. Two of the main supporting characters died (Nuriko Hotohori) and the other two that died were like the Star Trek extras (poor Chiriko and Mitsukake) It wasn't like that in the manga though :p
Tasuki actually was one of the better fighters. Chichiri is probably the most skilled out of all of them though.

In a battle of characters like this I just assume everyone knows what is going on here, who characters are and what happens to them. I don't always remember some people are new to the game and haven't seen a series, even if it is close to 7 years old. I mean, for newer anime like Seisouhen and the Eikoden FY as well as series just being domestically released, I wouldn't say something because not everyone has had a chance. Love Hina, FLCL, Crest of the Stars..I'd remember those newer ones....gomen.
