AMVisions - Your AMV Newsletter

Post by Resk » Sat Mar 26, 2005 4:49 pm

This is just a reminder that we are still looking for more writers for the AMV newsletter. The forum for the newsletter can be accessed here. Instructions on how to become a writer are explained on the site.

Production of the first issue has already begun, and with some luck, it should be finished sometime in late April. But for that to happen, we need writers! So don't be shy, there's plenty to do, and many sections that you can write for. And if none of the current columns suit your interests, you can create a new column idea. If that idea is approved, you can then write for it :)

Also, if anyone has any questions, you can ask them here.

You have to give some information before people can ask questions.

As far as we know (and I'm answering for Resk here, hope he doesn't mind) it'll be monthly, coming out the third week of every month.

So the first issue should be out by the end of the third week in april.

Yup, Kristy is correct. The release is on the third Friday of every month, with the articles on a deadline of the second Friday of every month.

And the reason I didn't give any info, was because I figured people would go o the forum for the newsletter, look at the info, and if it looked interesting, they would ask questions if they had any.

Not sure if we want people writing for it who aren't interested enough to check the link first.

I thought about a good column/topic I could write for the newsletter, but I don't use AIM or MSN (so I can't apply as a writer). Plus, I'm not sure if I have the time for it right now. Maybe come summer ... I want to see exactly how this newsletter will be presented (format/layout/design as well as the articles).

Well, some of that info I can tell you now. The distrubution of the newsletter will be in e-mail form, so basic text. This is because we want to ensure that every e-mail client will be able to read it, so no imbedded links, fancy layouts, graphics, etc. Column set-up will most likely be sectional, although we won't know for sure until we make the first issue.

However, we will also be producing PDF files of past issues, with colour, graphics, and other aspects that are unavailable in normal e-mail plain text. Those will be available for download at a later date.
