AMV's and Sony's PsP

Post by NeoSaturn » Fri Mar 25, 2005 4:36 am

I was thinking about buying the PsP, Someone told me that you can play your own videos off the Memory stick.

Has anyone try importing thier AMV's to the PsP? I think it would be cool to carry aroud a few of my favorite AMV around. Because how many times are you going to wacth Spider-man 2 :D

I believe the PsP uses Mpeg-4.

Assuming you have a big enough memory stick and you encoded it to the specifications that it says it can play (I'm doubtful that the PSP can play DivX/XviD. Probably means some other proprietary MPEG-4 codec. But who knows. I certainly haven't seen it in action).

Should ask dcdeveloperx. He has a Japanese PSP, and has had it for a while.

On the subject of video on PSPs, you'll definitely want to buy a higher capacity memory stick (I believe it comes with a 32mb one.. lame)

The cheapest 512mb model I could find was here: http://www.chiefvalue.com/app/productde ... pr1c3watch

$57.49 with free shipping. It's not Sony's brand memory stick, but it should work just the same (when I went to Best Buy yesterday, they had a table set up just for PSP stuff, and they were selling both the Sony and SanDisk memory sticks). This is a pretty good deal considering the same card retails for around $90 in-store.
