I really need help!

I've never made a music video before because up until last night, I had no idea how to capture clips off of DVD's. Yesterday I discovered I could rip my DVD's with "Roxio Easy Media Creator", but every time I try to rip a DVD, the process stops about 1/3 of the way and says "There was an error and your DVD may be corrupted." I don't think my DVD's are corrupted because I can still play them, so I was wondering if anyone could tell me why this is happening and what I can do to get all of my clips.
