Re: Anime Central AMV COntest Due Date
On April 1 at midnight, anyone worth their salt should be at the movie theater, watching Sin City for the 3rd or 4th time that daySailorDeath wrote:THe deadline is April 1st at midnight, that's 2 weeks away.

I have no idea how to use this new forum.

Would it be possible to provide and maintain a list of entries that have been received? I sent mine out a few days ago, and I'd like to know if it made it intact.SailorDeath wrote:The time is almost up for all of you to get your entries into us. I'm an AMV maker myself so I know how we love to procrastinate so I've been waiting before making my post below. 14 days left. I have received 3 submissions.
Information about submitting an entry can also be found at: http://www.acen.org/programming/amv.html
All entries must be mailed (whether postal or UPS or whatnot). Signature required is not a problem.
The submission form at the website does not contain a line for your e-mail address. The post Julius just made has that field. I will be sending entry receipt confirmations if you supply an e-mail address. If you have already mailed a submission and did not include an e-mail address, send e-mail to [Removed] with your name, entry, and e-mail. If you use the form on the website make sure to add your e-mail when you mail us a submission. Thanks.
At this point I want to bring up a particular segment we will have at Acen this year. It is a "Too hot for Acen" AMV programming block. People attending this programming block will be carded to see if you are over 18 years of age. This is because this AMV programming block will have videos containing excessive violence and/or sex. This block is a bit larger than that as it may also contain material that is not as strong as 18+ footage. It contains material that is simply not acceptable for the AMV contest some of which requires you to be 18+ to be present. This is not a contest. It's just a block we are going to show stuff at. If you would like to send us something to consider showing you can include it with your normal Acen entry (just keep it separated and noted as such). If you aren't already submitting to the contest then you can either mail it to the AMV contest submission address or send an e-mail to [Removed] to discuss a file transfer (assuming your file size is < 200 MB). Because this segment is not limited by the same requirements and restrictions of quality/redundancy as the AMV contest we can also receive AMVs in AVI format with Xvid or Divx video codecs and mp3 audio (for other formatting options anything that the AMV contest requires is good). One final word: this is not a fallback option if your video contains material that would make it get cut from the Acen AMV contest. Sending us material does not guarantee that it will be shown at this programming block.
If you want to send AMVs for the "Too hot" segment and wish them to be "Name and address withheld by request" feel free to do so; we will be discreet.

Like most folks have said, I think it's just procrastination. My entry only has a 2 second segment left, but I haven't touched it in two weeks -_-;;.SailorDeath wrote:I'll talk to Dan if he thinks he can handle an extention, also I'll see if it's possible to do a list of videos that have arrived, so far I think we got 3 videos total, so you can understand why I'm a little concerned.
Speaking of which, I guarantee if you had an FTP you'd get more entries. Just a suggestion.
