Better would be a small arrow that you can click on to drop those options down.
you can't scroll down the page without causing the onmouseover to disappear.
how's this done?Phade wrote:Also (and this may be just me, but) I tend to set the "wide" option and then not reset them when looking for a video.

But that was the whole point. Once the options are hidden, there is less scrolling to do.downwithpants wrote:x3

The effect is done by setting the default to "display: none;" for the items and then applying a :hover of "display: block;" on the definition list. This then unhides the options while your mouse is anywhere over the input form.downwithpants wrote:how's this done?Phade wrote:Also (and this may be just me, but) I tend to set the "wide" options and then not reset them when looking for a video.
I usually set these options and then don't change them again:
* Order by: Stars, descending
* Downloaded: Not Yet Downloaded Local
* Stars: Use Star Score
With those options set, I start running through my favorite anime to see if there's anything new.

the problem is that when i move my mouse over the onmouseover area, the window cuts off the options at the "stars" category, so to see anything below (like "spoilers" or "recent"), i have to scroll the window down, causing the the onmouseover area to collapse. (i'm on 1152x864 resolution with tabbed windows in firefox).Phade wrote:But that was the whole point. Once the options are hidden, there is less scrolling to do.downwithpants wrote:x3

one suggestion would be to convert all the radio button sets (order by, downloaded, spoilers, recent) to drop down lists like the "download" and "participation" categories, which might reduce the amount of space being taken up.
also, the terms "star average" and "star score" are vague. can you replace it with or add on the phrases - "raw average" and "weighted average"?

Ahh. I always use the scroll wheel so I didn't notice that. I can see how not having the wheel would be a major issue. I will remove the effect.downwithpants wrote:the problem is that when i move my mouse over the onmouseover area, the window cuts off the options at the "stars" category, so to see anything below (like "spoilers" or "recent"), i have to scroll the window down, causing the the onmouseover area to collapse. This was brought up in another thread. I had something similar but changed it to the current configuration since "star avg" and "star score" are used in the stats listing in the results. Having them longer was taking up too much room. I'll see about puting a better explination for them on the page itself.downwithpants wrote:also, the terms "star average" and "star score" are vague. can you replace it with or add on the phrases - "raw average" and "weighted average"?
Thanks again for all of y'all's feedback with this expirement! ^_^

No, that takes JavaScript.Zarxrax wrote:The way the titles on the search by anime list expand when you click on the letters would be one way to work it. That doesnt require anything other than CSS does it?
