The 69 Eyes' new album, Devils

Post by Stevie Carnage » Tue Mar 15, 2005 10:04 pm

I don't know how popular The 69 Eyes are on this board, but if you haven't heard them, I strongly suggust you check them out. They have the sound of the old glam and goth bands fromt the 80's like Joy Division and The Cure, combined with the sounds of Type O Negative, and the Finnish rock heros HIM.

Here is a link to a site that a few friends of mine run, you can download a few of thier songs off of there. No new songs, but it does contain tracks from their hit albums "Paris Kills", "Blessed Be", and "Wasting The Dawn."

I'd reccomed the tracks Betty Blue, Dance D' Amour, and Brandon Lee.

Unless the band gave permission for their songs to be available for download, then yeah, it's not legal. A mod will be about to remove the link. Someday. (General Music seems to get little attention.)

That sounds potentially very good. I'm intrigued.

"Devils" and "Paris Kills" are really good albums! Their earlier stuff sounds almost punk. It's like at some point they had a different singer or the singer decided to model himself after Peter Steele from Type O Negative. The best description of The 69 Eyes I've read is "the missing link between The Cult and Type O Negative", and it is true. It's like if Peter Steele joined The Cult. Nobody can really compare to Steele (occasionally Sebastian Elliot from Braindance), but the singer is along those lines.
