  • Please limit your new threads (not replies) to one per week. If you have several new videos to announce, create one thread for all the videos. (Note: if you forget one you can edit your post!)
  • Offsite links are allowed, but you are required to have a catalog entry for that video as well. Threads announcing videos that do not contain a catalog entry will be moved to the Awaiting Catalog Entry sub-forum and will be deleted in 2 weeks if an entry is not created.
  • When posting announcements, it is recommended that you include links to the catalog entries (using the video ID) in your post.

Arctic Tribe: Lunar Gravity

Post by FoxJones » Thu Mar 10, 2005 7:12 am

Yes.. I'm feeling creative. Anyone for a yuri-flavoured drama?

Here's the latest so far, and after this it's time for me to take a little break before I'll start another project.

Kannaduki no Miko - Kotoko - Suppuration

I'll keep this short because most of the stuff worth mentioning are in the profile. Just reminding the few warnings..
1) It's not a funny AMV like most of my latest works
2) It has heavy spoilers on Kannaduki no Miko

I just hope I managed to keep it interesting enough for the full 5½ minutes :3

Good job! :) Reminded me of a MAD in some ways. I'm not a big J-pop fan, but this song was quite catchy.

I love both anime and song so I hoped you did justice to them :P

and you did. It was quite low on motion for the high volume and fast beat of the song, but it was constant, so it worked. Just some scenes felt a bit empty while others had lots of editing in them.
Good job on the storytelling and effects :)

Btw, I actually hoped it wouldn't be too close to my own Idea with this anime and I'm glad it wasn't :D So I still can pull it off sometime >_>

What the? That song...wait that's the same anime. Did you get the idea from seeing the promo-DVD Kannaduki no Miko Music Video? Well if you havn't, it's the same damn song. And the video is just like yours (editing style anyway). There's a lot more effects involved - mostly color changes and overlays plus a niffty 3D montage of moving frames, but quite good.

Your video is also very good, certainly more character focused and since I've never seen the show, I thought it was interesting. This would have made a great entry for YuriCon.

Well well.. let's see ^^

Well.. this isn't "opinion exchange"-forum.. and I'm already owing a lot of opinions I couldn't write since all VCA happening and my own projects going on. So sorry, I can't promise you an opinion right now, but I will at least check out some of your AMVs and I do try to give opinions back to people that have opinioned mine... with bad success so far :( <- Lazy bum.

Yes.. the song is from Kannaduki no Miko. It was used as a BGM in it but IMHO it wasn't used for its' full potential. When I got the op/ed single, that song was in it.. and I just wanted to make a tribute with it. When I found the translations to the lyrics I REALLY wanted to make an AMV out of it ^_^
..and no, I haven't seen the promo-DVD (or any promo-DVDs out here in the middle of nowhere). Considering how the song is originaly from the anime itself I'm not surprised if there'd be an official MV of it. But that it would be same style as mine..? :D Now I definitely wanna see it.

Well.. I don't make my AMVs for contests in mind. I guess I could at least check out about the YuriCon.. though I'd guess it either requires that the AMV is made just for the con or the credits-part I imbedded into the AMV is not allowed, therefore disqualifying it.

So I get criticized again for my way of mixing fast paced song with slow scenes :D Same thing happened with Ducktoy Complete.. and I still will not learn! Mwahahahaa...!
And I edit/add effects when I feel there's some need for those and leave them be when I feel they are not needed ;)

..and Janzki. No go calling my AMVs MADs ;_; Bad artist.. *whack*
