They're popular because it's like Open Source software, but even non-geeks can contribute. It's a way to sell people on the idea. At least, that's my take.

Yeah, I'm trying to find a way to make that easier. Unfortunately, the only really good page for MediaWiki (that I can find, anyway) is on Wikipedia, and it has a lot of Wikipedia-specific information. (A lot of it is still good for this wiki, but there's also a lot that isn't.)pen-pen2002 wrote: I think the bizare rules of Wiki formating are likly to be more of a problem than malicious users.
