confused about anime!!!

Post by AMVFreakazoid » Sat Feb 26, 2005 8:34 pm

hi, um im posting this because i am a little lost about what determines if a show is considered anime on this website

here is what i think:

1.) i think its strange that "Family Guy" videos can be made and accepted perfectly fine....its not even anime.

2.) i also think its strange that "Teen Titans" isn't considered anime because it has the same feel as anyother anime show and is more anime than family guy.

Why aren't Teen Titan videos allowed? is there some sort of like rule about teen titans that i should know?

ah, well by posting this i am just expressing what i feel and i am not trying to get any administrator's mad or anything. i just want an answer

so will somebody please answer my questions?

i'm sure someone will come along with an official answer
<_<
>_>
but imo, no one said family guy was 'perfectly accepted' it's just that there's no way of knowing what someone is uploading until you download it so it could just be that no one has found said videos and thus hasn't acted upon it
it takes time to find the rule-breaking videos

Teen Titans is an american show with anime roots... well actually american roots but heavily anime influenced (on purpose), it's basically a kid-orientated flashy version of Justice League if you want to look at it that way

i'd almost say that it's only a rule for the donut (the anime requirement rule) but i don't think that's the case, i'm sure a video has to have a majority of actual anime footage to be added to the AMV database
If you're reading this, you've gone too far...PREPARE FOR RETRIBUTION!!
Don't judge an AMV by it's anime.. u nooB ;D

Family guy and teen titans, neither of them are considerated anime but some people here at the org find it funny or think they are very smart, and upload "AMV's" that dont contain anime (Teen titans, Family guy) even if it is against the rules. The rules clearly state that videos that dont contain anime cant be uploaded on the site but some people (not all) still upload those videos.

examples of videos you can see in this site that are not anime related:
1) family guy videos
2) Teen titans videos
3) Lord of the rings (live action movie) videos
4) Harry Potter videos
5) live action Music videos
6) Even videos that are not videos (they are files)

And YES, there are rules for uploading videos. If you see this type of video you should notify them to the mods in the moderators drop box.

I hope this answers your question.

They can't. Unless the video has other sources in it that ARE anime.

Where? Post a link to this video and it will be removed. Such videos are not allowed on the org.

I'm guessing you mean Pie Row Maniac's "Quahog Kombat"?

That video used to be listed on this site, but seems to have been removed.
