I was seeing this show and i wondered something...
In the battle of the 3rd Hokage with Orochimaru, the god of death devours the 'arms' of the soul of Orochimaru, causing his hands to turn into stone.
In one of the latest episodes he seems to get his arms back - by SOUL-EXCHANGE!
Something might be wrong here...
What do you think?

I also would like to add my own qustion here? For those who read the Naruto manga on the net...
In the latest manga i read which is the one where it is 3 years after the whole Sasuke dissaperance. Here are a couple of things i wanted to get others' opinions on.
1) Do you think Sasuke is still himself or do you think Orochimaru has taken his body? If so i believe it will get very interesting.
2) Who thinks it is hilarious that Naruto is the only one who hasn't advanced?
3) Is it me or did it seem like Shikamaru and the fan chick were a couple?
4) What do you guys think about Gara now becoming the leader of the sand? ( i for one think it's sweet)

--It's only been 2.5 years, so the next body transfer can't have taken place.
2) Who thinks it is hilarious that Naruto is the only one who hasn't advanced?
--I do!

--Temari. I saw that one coming a long way off.
4) What do you guys think about Gara now becoming the leader of the sand? ( i for one think it's sweet)
--It's interesting, although not entirely unexpected.

Eh, i thought i replied to this thread but it isnt showing
Oh well, all in all u have a good point. Cutting the arms of his soul off should in theory meen he can never use his arms again, regardless of what body he takes.
IMO, this could be looked at in one of 2 ways.
1) It's a loop hole -- *shrugs*
2) In some way, shape, or form is only effects his current body. If you recall the more recent episode when Tayuya attacks Shikamaru with the worms who were seeking physical stability, they don't actually attack his body. When the worm takes a bite at him, his hand in an almost chakra looking form is ripped and bitten from his actual hand. I guess you could apply this to when the Hokage takes Orochimaru's arms. Perhaps he was just incapaciting him physically, and not spiritually.
A question could be raised from that aswell though...
This skill that The Third uses was the Fourth Hokage's technique. When the Fourth originally used this, he sealed the demon inside Naruto. This would make, at least me, assume that it was a soul binding technique.
Then again, we also don't know to what extent Orochimaru takes over a person's body. Remember when he takes over his more recent one he states to his container - "Don't worry, you won't lose your strong will" (Or something along those lines". From that i guess you could go off wondering just how much Orochimaru actually takes with him when he takes over someone elses body.
I'm sorry that this didn't really answer your question, but its my thoughts on the matter.

As I stated in my previous post, his arms arnt actually cursed. They were simply the only thing the Hokage could seal away with the strength he had let.

He is transferring his soul/mind, not his chakra, which is why he needs a strong body with lots of chakra, and not just anyone. The technique makes Orochimaru immortal by keeping his mind (and his soul, too, one would think) in the mortal plane.
But really, I don't think Orochimaru's techniques are hammered down to a science. It's just a plot device, so roll with it.
Go Orochimaru!
