The editors are probably waiting until Katsucon to premiere the AMV.

Well also why some are not being found is that while a few are under a production name, others are actually under our real names. Some titles are mistyped, none have the anime or song used. It makes it nearly impossible to use the site's search feature.
But some vids are on the org, some are going to be premiered after the con.
Just wait for the winners announcements since then you will actually get the really good videos
And any that don't win but were popular enough to warrant attention will be mentioned.

Seriously, this is a good video to kick off the contest. Albeit overused, it's still a high-energy song.
I think he means "And That's That". You'll enjoy this one.6. / 11 / THE FINAL ACT / "AND THAT`S IT
Hmm, so it isn't "Blow Blow Buttlord" or "Danger Lowbrow Humor"... but I'm excited to see this one, considering I haven't seen it yet.15. / 10 / THE FINAL ACT / PROGRESS AND STRESS AND DREAM
Very cute video.23. / 31 / J.HELLER / THE AZUMANGHA BOOGIE ( OR SOME GIRLS LIKE CRACK )
I'm sure this is the video that was immediately disqualified after its one showing at Anime Mid-Atlantic last year. That issue aside though, this video is an odds-on favorite for Fan Favorite. Watch it and you'll see why.28. / 24 / B.MINNIX / " A TRIBUTE TO FAN SERVICE "
My 1 video that will make its debut! My only hope is that there'll still be people in the video room to watch it considering it's way down the list. I guess this makes up for my very first AMV being the SECOND video shown at the 2003 Katsu AMVs.32. 19 / B.JS PRODUCTIONS / OUT WHERE DREAMS COME TRUE
As shown at Anime USA and NekoCon. Good way to end the contest.35. / 20 / S.SMITH / " WITCH DOCTOR "
A good few videos here are sort of some "best of 2004" videos, and there's a good set of videos making their debuts here too. Let's hope for a smooth go-around this year!

Re: Katsucon AMV Finalist List
well I hope this doesn't ruin anything for you... a bunch of the videos in this contest are NOT the first time they're been premiered in a contest.Ravos20 wrote:how the heck does he know?
So by process of elimination I would assume brakus either knows some of the creators of the videos he's commenting on and therefore he's already seen them.. and/or he's attending conventions where these videos have already premiered or already have been shown.
But that's my guess, regardless of that... that's how I've seen a handfull of these videos.

Yeah I can safely say that I know a decent number from Ohayocon's contest. So certainly not all of the videos are premieres.

4 days until Katsucon. Once again good luck to all that entered. I'll be in a Gene Starwind costume with a caster gun and my hair will not be dyed red. I have black hair. So if you see a black hair Gene Starwind about 5'6" or so. That's probably me. If any creators want to meet up with me I'll be at the first screening Friday night and then we can discuss on where we want to go from there.

I would have posted these earlier, but everything seems to be running 30-60 minutes late.
Katsucon AMV results:
Best Action, Best Editing, Pres. Award:

Best Drama:
"Ever Searching" by Helen Ye
Best Comedy, Best of Show:

I had fun!
My awards were totally unexpected, especially since there was some pretty fierce competition in the drama category. The ones that stood out most to me were MeriC's Love is Another Word for Regret, dji's Time is Running Out (no link yet), and ssgwnbtd's Metropolis.
I also enjoyed Senta's Won't Be Ignored, gambitt's The Azumanga Boogie, and the Yu Yu Busters video.
I had Glory of Love stuck in my head for the rest of the day.
The rendition of Sappy Self-Indulgence at the awards ceremony was priceless. I sang along.
