In what format are you saving the video? DV AVI?

Oh good, then it's a known problem with a known workaround:

First: save this file to your C:\Program Files\Movie Maker\Shared\Profiles folder. It should then show up in WMM2 on the list of "Other" export options with all the others. It'll be called something like "Very high quality WMV, 29.97 fps".

Then export using that profile. The resultant file should look just about as good as a DV AVI.
When it comes time to compress to something distributable, you can either convert to HuffYUV using a converter like EO Video and work from there, or serve the .WMV using AVISynth's DirectShowSource().

(Disclaimer: the WMV profile I keep linking to is one I made myself; if anyone's got one that's known to work better (especially you, DWP), please let us all know.)

Finally tried it out and saved it. Now the video isn't playing, it's totally frozen. Any suggestions now?

How far into the process did you get?

And what do you mean by "frozen"?
