I use Windows movie maker for my work...or I try to. Is there some specific file typ to use when I make my movies? everytime I try to play through one of my AMV's, before its finished, while its still on the timeline, it makes my computer freeze up and stop, then I gotta reboot. Its usually in the same spot on the timeline, but that spot can vary from clip to clip, project to project.
I get the impression that WMM is a piece of junk...does anyone know a cheap(aka: free)/decent replacement for it?[/b]

I wouldn't recommend trying to play through an entire timeline in WMM; rather, export a quick test copy and play that back in your favorite media player to see if things lined up the way you wanted them to.
Also, if you're using DivX/XviD source clips and/or MP3 audio, don't. That'll contribute to the crashiness right there.
