Why are so many people against using rap music in AMVs?

Hm ... I think that most popular hiphop is just crap thats why nobody uses it. But there maybe some more reasons, for example it´s a bit boring to synch one and the same beat for 3 mins just because there often not alot variation in a rap song.

well that one reason but second reason because most anime don't fit well with rap music mostly gothic heavy metal

Anyways, what's with these mad generalizations? Aren't we too old for that now?

Most rap videos I've seen have been very good. I'd like to see more. The reason I'm not is, I think, the fact that rap is a bit challenging to edit to. Not too many people are up to it, apparently.

I personally think that the reason behind the lack of Rap AMVs is:
AMV making is not a populair thing, and that would also attract people that are outside of the mainstream, and thereby tend to stay away from most of the populair music. This therefor means that most of the AMV Creators don't really like/listen to rap music.
Most of them here seem to listen to the rock genre, or more into some of the sidebranches there off.
I myself listen mostly to punk and heavy metal/trash metal, and that offcourse influences the videos i make. Seeing that i could make a video with rap music (anyone here that can edit can make one, duh), i won't. Because i can't stand that crap. Sorry for all the rap fans, but personally i don't like lyrics that are about asses, boobs, fallic impersonations of cars and other junk like that, all stuff that seems to be aimed at degrading women and would only lend itself to hentai videos with a S&M theme.
