Why are so many people against using rap music in AMVs?

It's not impossible to make an amv from any genre of music. All you have to do is listen, let your mind wander and eventually an anime match / concept may come to you. I've done various genres for my videos and believe they've worked out well (including a rap vid). With the many genres of stories that anime emcompases, I find it hard to believe that there's not a form of music that can't be matched to just about anything.
Oh, for anyone who says rap is only about how bad you are and how many people you've beat up / slept with, go listen to Kanye West, or Public Enemy, or Tribe Called Quest or various others on the CD shelves. There's more to music than what you see on MTV or hear on pop radio.

Is it just me or does anyone else miss the days when good rap and popular rap overlapped?Darkseid wrote:Oh, for anyone who says rap is only about how bad you are and how many people you've beat up / slept with, go listen to Kanye West, or Public Enemy, or Tribe Called Quest or various others on the CD shelves. Okay here's my 2 cents: Back in the day in the 90's I use to listen to rap. I'll addmit I was a Hammer fan and of course the Beastie Boys. Does anyone remember Yong Mc doing Busta Move or Tone Loc doing Funky Cole Madina? Rap use to be fun for everyone and then Snoop Dogg, Public Enemy, Dr. Dre and the East Coast vs. West shit broke out. Rap turmed into really angry music that was hard for me accpect. Don't get me worng all the afore mentioned rappers are great at what they do but when I listen to music I don't want to have to choose sides. East vs. West coast thing is over now and we lost a lot talent however I think now is great time for rap. I'm at the point now I look back and realize that there was alot of great rap music being and still being made. I have a few rap AMV idea's in the works I don't know if they'll see the light of day(mainly because of college
) but when in doubt just make your own rap AMV's.

DONT LET A LITTLE THING LIKE COLLEGE HOLD YOU BACK!!!! I just got a 59% on my English midterm, but i used making a rap amv as the ideal excuse. Instead of thinking of making a rap amv as a potential hindrance to your education, use it as an excuse for failurekingmob_867 wrote:I have a few rap AMV idea's in the works I don't know if they'll see the light of day(mainly because of college)
