Outlaw Star.
As much as I like Outlaw Star I think it is kinda dying down somewhat.

From what I've noticed at cons, a poplular anime won't get really overused until it comes out on dvd. There may be a number of Naruto vids at the prescreenings, but probably not too many. Since fansubs will probably be the main source for Naruto amvs, I'd be surprised to see more than one make it into the action or drama categories. Once it comes out on dvd in the US, there will be an explosion of Naruto vids and audiences will soon moan everytime a Naruto vid starts up.

Popular anime movies, such as AMG, VHD, and X1999, get overused the most once they are released here. High quality footage, popular anime, and only two hours worth of animation make them very easy choices for an amv. Same applies to short OAV series like Furi Kuri and the Kenshin OAVs.

Of course that only applies to newer titles as older anime releases still don't get used a lot...

I woudl think that Naruto and FMA wouldnt be as common due to the lack of DVD availablity.

Im hoping for some Azu Manga Dioh vids, and am thinking of making one myself (i refuse to let my inability to make a good vid stop me :D :D )

OUTLAW STAR WILL BE THE ANIME FOR OTAKON'S AMV CONTEST, AS WELL AS THE THEME.

And you know it. DENIAL IS FUTILE.

I'd like to see every video using one scene from an anime on loop.

Yes I know I submitted an Outlaw Star video back in 2003 but didn't make the cut. And then in 2004 Outlaw Star made the finals with My Turn to Fly. So anyone else have any other thoughts on which anime will be the most overused this year at Otakon.

I have a feeling there mite be a full moon vid or too especially considering the show's musical side.

on a related note, since theres no info on the otakon website and this year is my first year, what are the basic rules about premeiring a vid for the contest? Must it be submitted without uploading it anywhere or can it be up here first. Also, are they looking for vids from the time of the contest, or from the whole year?

You can have your video uploaded here first, at least there hasn't been a rule against that in the past years I've competed at Otakon. As for the submission you are allowed to submit one amv only. It usually has to be from the past 2 years and couldn't have won any major prizes or contest. I hope this helps. I have a gutt feeling eventhough it may not be Naruto it'll probably be S-cryed, or Wolf's Rain.
