Huge action-synch guide of greatness?

Okay. I have some questions.
And I know there will probably be a lot of me being shot down, but meh.

Here goes.
Somewhere in the EADFAG, there's a very brief action-synch guide by AD.(I can't find it anymore).
Then, there's the Action synch 101 by Madbunny, and the mini-guide to Action Synch by me.

My aim is to screw my previous, sucky mini-guide of action-synch(i.e. get it deleted) and make a new, full guide to it and lyric synch.
Good ways, bad ways, hypothetical ways.
Multi-platform and software friendly.

I have what I'd like to cover pretty my done in my head, but I'd like to know how you guys would like to see it carried out.

I know that most Action-synch guides have a lot of text, and some pictures of the timeline, as well as sound waves.
In my mini-guide, not only did I have that, but I also had very small video clips explaining what I had done and why it looked better.

In AD's guide within EADFAG, he somehow meshed in pictures of the anime footage.

What I'm asking you, is how would you like to see such a guide carried out?

Just text?
Pictures?
Mini-clips, as well?

I was wondering which would be the best and/or most effective way to get the point across. What're your ideas? Comments? Suggestions? Flames?

Now to be completely honest with you (And I know you don't care).

I don't understand writing full guides to this stuff, the thing of it is that you have to get naturaly experienced at it (like watching a firefly go back and forth, eventually if you do it enough you catch it with your eye).

I don't think a guide will help, Really I don't.

And if it ends up being something just nice to look at, I'd like to know what sort of nice to look at thing it should be...

But yeah, I totally understand where you're coming from, and you're right; I don't care. Nothing's going to stop me from making the guide, save lack of brain activity. And even if it doesn't get hosted here, I'll end up putting it on my site.

I think this would be particularly for the new comers. I think it would be better if you made a "The No no's" kinda thing. Like.. don't leave a clip running for 20 seconds. =/

It's nice to have examples of pictures in what's going on to accompany the text, it gives an idea of what it should look like instead of just you guessing that what your doing hopefully matches what's said. When you say mini-clips, do you mean like a well synced scene, or do you mean the process, which sounds odd to me but it might prove helpful. A guide that looks at a well synced video explaining why it was good in detail, instead of a more general, it was good because the scene cuts matched the beat or lyrics, could prove a lot more helpful. With an example of how it's done, the reader could use it as a indicator if they are going about it in the right way, something to build from to create a better amv. I agree that just plain experience is the best teacher, but guiding through each experience would probaby be more helpful than some information in the guides now.

When I say mini-clips, I mean like this:

it can help you save footage if you don't have a lot. Normally, this
isn't a great idea if you want to build up suspense, but it's the
easiest(in my opinion) of action editing tricks.<br>

This is the waveform of the audio I used. It doesn't matter what
editing program it's in, because all programs(that I know of) show the
audio's waveform when editing.<br>

Can I recommend distributing in something other than .wmv? Not all of us can play them.

I'd advise using MPEG because that's most generally accepted, Since you're basically cutting out a lot of people (like Mac users) if you only distribute your mini clips in .wmv.

At the beginning of the guide, I gave a link ot WMP for Macs.

I used wmv because it's the smallest... And most compatible. I mean. A lot of people won't want to download RealPlayer for a guide. Or in general.
