But we do have TheFinalAct.net, MeriC, Alan Chaess, and Jeff Heller (I believe) in the list this year. (and me too, after being shut out last year) There's no lack of talent in this year's list, even without Hsien and VicBond.dji wrote: no vic bond.... no kusoyaro.... OMGWTF?!?!?!?!?!
The final cut list awaits....

I'm really excited about seeing the final of MeriC's video! The beta was frigging awesome - I can't wait! It's going to look great on the big screen!Brakus wrote:But we do have TheFinalAct.net, MeriC, Alan Chaess, and Jeff Heller (I believe) in the list this year. This morning there was an announcement by CXI on the Katsucon forum about the Final Cut List:
Whatever happened to what Keith Mayfield said back in mid-December?
If that indeed was the case, it's all fine and dandy, but honestly, if in the past 2 years there was a Final Cut List, and there was an announcement saying something to that effect this year also, there should be something indicating that it is a Final Cut List. Can we have a little consistency here?
And then he proceeds to list all the participants that submitted to the contest. The list of music video finalists has been available in the Announcements section since the beginning of January, but apparently not everyone realizes that. Here is the information duplicated from those posts. Sorry for the confusion:

So apparently all the entries have been pre-judged, and no video was rejected due to content, score, or time constraints. Also, apparently there is no time limit for the AMV contest showings this year; in the past 2 years there was a 2-hour limit for the contest. Please get your entries in. Pre Judging will take place January 15th 2005
On January 19th the final entry list will posted.

So this means everyone made the contest by default. Okay. I wish this was more clear to everyone. Brakus, apparently you and I are not the ones confused by all of this.Brakus wrote:This morning there was an announcement by CXI on the Katsucon forum about the Final Cut List:

I guess that makes me happy that my videos will be shown, but at the same time it makes me sad that there weren't a whole lot of videos submitted which would nesesitate a preliminary cut. This could be either very good or very bad as it could be a great contest or a overall crappy one with only few decent videos. Considering the entrant list I don't think its the later case. I just hope I don't feel like clawing my eyes out while at the contest ^_^
