I've been mmorpg'd for 6 months than out of commision for 4 months, heh, but I've always liked Silver_Moon ever since 2002 or 01 ;p. Her and her sister, Sierra Lorna, make excelant works that make you think 'Wow! That would take a LONG time!' (mostly Sierra's Elvis vs. Anime as of 2003 lol) So I'm excited to see what my little Canadian godesses of amv have been up to!!

Good luck to everyone else though!

Ya, sadly I haven't seen it mentioned much, but hopefully it will get enough nominations to at least be considered and then hopefully people will watch it and see whyGarylisk wrote:x 1,000,000,000dwchang wrote: 8) Secret Waltz by Pianos - I'm a bit surprised this hasn't been mentioned more, but oh well. This is one of the MADs made by Pianos (who joined the .org in 2004) and probably my favorite of his. I'd like to nominate it for Best Fun, Best Dance, Best Use of Visual Effects and Video of the Year
If any of you haven't seen this one, you REALLY need to. It's a STRONG candidate for video of the year, as well as all the other categories it's being suggested for here. If ever there was a video for this year's VCA's that deserves your attention, this is it!

It's funny, but I've watched the video already twice in the last two days since mentioning it

Must. Find. The. Song.

Well it's not to say I dislike my video (I like it) nor am I saying I woudn't enjoy being nominated, but *to me* (i.e. my opinion), to be nominated and to know there is a video that's awesome and wasn't nominated and competing in the categry...makes competing feel a bit hollow.Bakadeshi [AuN Studios] wrote:I had already planned to nominate this one in romance![]()
along with about 5 others...
For example, last year in the VCA Romance category, MeriC and VegettoEX's excellent Kimugare Orange Road video Let Me Save You was sadly not present and although I am grateful to have won, their video was one of my favorite romance videos of 2003 and was just as romantic and worthy of consideration. (Also, not to say the other entries were worse...is it not sad I must be this cautious?).
At the same time, it is the Viewer's choice and not the "THIS IS THE ABSOLUTE OPINION OF WHAT IS BEST" contest and things are obviously subjective. Also, I imagine there are *tons* of awesome vids that I don't even know about so it's probably a moot point.
Regardless, I hope that doesn't rub anyone the wrong way or come across as overly humble. It's just my mentality *shrug*. Hopefully both of us make it? Anyway, enough about me. I dislike promoting myself during this period (ironic given how much of an explanation I just wrote

lol not to put anybody else down, I am just consistantly impressed by them, yet I hardly see any advertisements. They're like Sega imo, they REALLY need to work on self promotion, given that they'd easily be up with the big guys (hadn't been around for a year, is BigBig Truck still around? Ermac? I remember the forum used to WORSHIP them!). I didn't exactly mean godesses as in hot (Urd is NOT hot btw!) but as in VERY skilled
. Remember Lyrs' sig was pretty cool.
BTW I love this thread! Missing 2004, this saves me ALOT of time! Didn't see the noob's vid, but I highly suggest the FLCL/ Red Hots (original name, work on it!) vid in Announcements, shows alot of promise. The 99 orchestrations one, I only watched the cat soup one mentioned, didn't look at dates, but I suggest a look at that one!

Yeah, that'd be great.dwchang wrote:Hopefully both of us make it?

I haven't seen much promoting of Sierra's vids. I think I have to mention her This Is Living! video. I think it's her best of this year (she only made three this year, but still). Nominate it for Best Character Profile or Best Drama.Knowname wrote:Her and her sister, Sierra Lorna, make excelant works

I haven't heard much about BigBig Truck, I don't think she's made any vids this year. But ErMaC is officially retired. His last video was Extraordinary World, you can vote for it in the VCAs this year.Knowname wrote:is BigBig Truck still around? Ermac?

BigBigTruck hasn't made an AMV in nearly two years. She's been more pursuing drawing and art lately. I heard she got an AMV idea recently though, but who knows if she'll go with it. I hope so.Knowname wrote:hadn't been around for a year, is BigBig Truck still around? Ermac? I remember the forum used to WORSHIP them!
As for ErMaC, as silver_moon said, Justin retired from the AMV community a little bit after he released his last video (linked above). I could go into the dramatic details, but it'd probably be best to just read his a-m-v.org journal.
You're welcomeKnowname wrote:BTW I love this thread! Missing 2004, this saves me ALOT of time!

At the same time, note that these are the vids that I feel are great, but *not* popular. There are plenty of other great videos that *are* popular, but you can find them fairly easily with the appropriate lists, star scales and other threads. I just felt like giving other vids a nudge instead

Enjoy!

Ririsu-chan BANZAI!
Though in my eyes this one scores as action-AMV..

more videos
Hey everyone!
Well, I'm not your ussual forum dweller but after reading some posts I decided to share some wonderful unapreciated AMVs or very new videos that yet to get its viewers apreciation.
I'm glad that Secret Waltz by Pianos and A Different Side of Me by Suberunker were already mentioned. Those are just beauty. I remember when I first watched Waltz it hardly had any reviews at all..
1) Phantasmagoria by requiett (Brett Pattison)
and
Schizophreakia by requiett (Brett Pattison)
interesting work and defined style
2) Aosusuki by *inverse*
If you watched Fruits Basket (Furuba), you will love the video. Quality is .. well.. average.. but the spirit! She managed to catch the spirit of the whole show in one AMV. Lovely, sweet and remarkable work. I really like that girls style. Most of her videos are shining even though she's not using any advanced technics or anything like that. I believe we will have some interesting projects from her in the future. Anyways, i think she deserves appresiation. Also watch LuV & jOy oF FrUiTs BaSkEt if you liked Aosusuki.
It's an older one, very simple. But in the simplicity is the beauty.
3) Animal Attraction by Arigatomina
My fav. comedy so far. It made me laugh so hard..
It's so innocent and wrong at the same time. Best Comedy and Most Original Concept. Just watch how he used Luna there.
Wonderfully developed video. Very solid and simply hilarious
4) Cowboy Andy's Universe of Whatever by mckeed (David McKeen)
It's somewhat short but worth looking at. Really nice video/audio match
Also you could take a look at Disney in D(wchang) Minor by the same creator. Though this one is quite famous
5) ScorpionsUltd with his Whisper Of The Beast for Rookie of the Year. Remarkable first video indeed
and couple others if you have time to check them out Kill Spike by Tyler_yj (Yann J.) for Kill Bill fans and The Anti-Male vid, version 2.0 by Ashnak (John Hessler) just for good laugh.
ok, and for the last I want to share with you the wonderful discovery I made yesterday. It's Yatta!: Hooray for Anime! by Mr. Pilkington Studios and the whole collection of AMV_4000. None of it can participate in this year voting (or any other legal voting ^^) but is true masterpiece of college fandome. (check out Prison bitch, Polka and Alarm KOS) It became a hit in one day at my university
Alright. Best wishes everyone!
Have a great week
