Why am I being redirected from local DL links?

Post by Altrus » Thu Jan 13, 2005 9:08 am

I am really confused, and could use help from the knowledgable.

Recently my web browser, (Netscape 7.1), crashed. Instead of trying to reinstall all the screwed-up components, I thought it would be a good time to install and run on 7.2 from then on. Most things are working fine, but I am having mucho trouble on this site, and I hope you can help me figure out why.

I've been a longtime member, and had no troubles downloading the videos before. Now, when I click on ANY local video download link, the brower redirects through 2 or 3 different addresses, then dumps me back on the main member's page. It only takes a second or so, but no matter what local video download link I click, it sends me back to the main members page.

All of my stars are updated with no videos pending. Cookies are enabled. Javascript is turned on. Cache has been cleared. Yet I am still having this same problem. Does anyone know why my browser is doing this?

I am having a similar problem in yahoo groups. I try to log-in, and it keeps sending me back to the log-in page rather than to my groups home. Cookies and caches have all been cleared repeatedly.

I hope someone can help me out here.

If it happens not only on this site, then its apparently a problem with your browser. Try uninstalling and reinstalling it again, or better yet, just move on to a better browser like Firefox :)

I was hoping for a bit more help than that.

Zarxrax probably gave you the best advice anyone on this board and it only consisted of one word.

Seriously. Even though IE is starting to catch up to it's mistakes and Mozila's examples and Netscape has been blown out of the water, Firefox will still suit your needs well.

Any "back to the member main page" error are due to cookie problems.
