Can I take the song out of a video?
Ok, so here's the deal:
I just watched Shameless Rock Video, and I like the shortened version of Speed King a LOT more than the full version.
Is there any way I can extract just the audio from the song and save it as a .mp3 file so I can load it to my iPod?
Also, I know next to nothing about video editing.

step one: Buy "Deep Purple" CD
http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/de ... c&n=507846
step two: use CDEX or Nero or somesuch to extract it as a WAV
step three: trim it down like it is in the video.
step four: compress to mp3

Isn't that kinda like asking how to download the song for personal use?megabob wrote:Huh. Looking back, I realize that I didn't really phrase my query in an easily understood way.
What I want is just the audio from the video, minus all the actual video parts, in a format that iTunes can read and accept.
Info like you're asking for could be used for illegal means easily(like downloading new AMV's just for a free song)

I wasn't talking about you specifically, but yeah, while it would be alot of work, who would know? nobody. Ton's of people are crazy enough to do stuff like that. If anyone knows how you could do what you're asking, have them PM you. OK?megabob wrote:Good point. but I do have a deep purple CD with the song in question on it, just not the right version and edited the way I like.
Does that make it less illegal?
Also, that seems like an awful lot of work just for a free song.
