On remaking a video

Post by failingsway » Thu Jan 06, 2005 1:23 am

Hullo, if you have made a music video with terrible sound quality, small size, etc, etc, etc, and you fix it to make the quality and size better, can you upload that? Even if its the same thing as the old one?

If it is EXACTLY the same video and the only difference is video/audio quality then you can request the current local version be deleted so you can replace it with the fixed version. If the updated version is has other changes, like slight scene reworking or the like, then it should be listed as a seperate entry in your profile.

Absolutely…

Although this site has two different kinds:
Re-masters ~ Same video “improved” audio/video
Remakes ~ Same ‘concept’, different footage and/or music, etc.

Darn, I know this information is somewhere…
Well, if I find it, I’ll post it. :roll:

The 'Enter New Video' page wrote:remaster - to recreate a video using the same video content but with different (usually cleaner) source material; the new video should have the exact same content, scene for scene. Example: Your video was originally created with VHS source. The DVDs for the anime used in your video have now been released. You can then create a remastered version of your video with the DVD source. The final video should look exactly like the original video, except with greater visual quality.

Note: Since the procedure hasn't been mentioned yet... If you do have a remastered version you wish to have uploaded then you should go to the video deletion request page which can be found on the Edit My Videos page. There you can ask to have the local video file deleted so you may upload the new version.

Erm, is there a policy on remaking remade AMVs? My brother made an AMV with downloaded footage, which I made with DVD footage in WMM (thus grossly inhibiting its quality due to my then-unskilled hands). Could I re-remaster it with DVD footage in Premiere? ^_^;;
