These were the specs for your program, just copied and pasted from my previous post, as I am too lazy to rewrite them out also ;p
DVD Specifics Information:
If using TempGnc 3.0 Xpress (Free Trail downloadable from http://www.pegasys-inc.com/en/download/ ... cense.html )
WHen selecting output, use Standard Template -> DVD -> NTSC
Set:
Encode Mode: Prioritize quality
Aspect Ratio: 4:3 for full screen, 16:9 for widescreen IF you have trimmed black borders. You may also add the borders and set to 4:3, to be safe that all players will display it correctly, however it won't be maximum quality that way. I can correct this in the authoring program if it becomes a problem.
Rate control mode: VBR
Audio Format: Linear PCM
Click Select, then set:
Image Resolution: 720x480
Average video Bitrate 7998
Maximim bitrate: 8000
Number of pass: 2 pass
Click ok, and encode ^^

Thanks! It rendered out from a 6 min huffy at 1.55 Gb to a beautiful 269 Mb mpeg2. Wait, you just need the video directly and not any bumpers I added right? If so I'll just re-encode it. Anyways, I played the mpeg2 in PowerDVD and it resizes correctly to 4:3, so it worked just right. I'll get started on the re-encode
.
Edit I have a question about encoding. At "Set Output" there are three settings I'm not sure about.
Video Mode: Defaultly it puts "3:2 pulldown playback" as the option, but would I want to choose "Progressive" since it is? I assume leave it as is, because the top bar says it is "23.976 fps (internally 29.97 fps)" with "3:2 pulldown playback", while if I choose anything else it only says "29.97 fps".
Motion search precision: Defaultly it is set at "Standard". I would think I would want to set it to "High" or "High (with error correction)".
DC component precision: Default is "9 bit", but there is the choice of "8 bit" and "10 bit". I assume leave this as is.

If not sure on the settings, leave it at default and It should work fine. ANything you see that should improve quality in its method of encoding, such as Motion search pricision setting to high is probably a good idea. The others I'd leave at default.anubisx00 wrote: Edit I have a question about encoding. At "Set Output" there are three settings I'm not sure about.

I'm thinking about (finally) uploading my video. The reason is that I'm thinking of putting it up for nomination for the VCA's (assuming there is a horror category again this year). I'm not sure how it works but I might have to have it uploaded before 2005. Does anyone know how the VCA nominations work exactly?
