What do the really good AMV's do?

Post by project myu » Thu Dec 23, 2004 6:08 pm

I'm new to the scene but had a question about the really good anime music videos..

The one that comes to mind for me is Euphoria, and I was wondering what the creator of it does with it? Does he just submit it to every single convention and contest seeing as how it'd probably win almost all of them? Or does he just show it at a couple of conventions and that's that?

Most creators have some sort of self-determined limit on how many conventions they feel comfortable submitting a certain video to. Mine lies around three; fewer if it's a winning video. It's mainly a matter of personal preference, except in the case of contests that bar the entry of previously-winning videos or even require that entries cannot have premiered at previous conventions.

There was this one guy back in 2002 who sent a video that won almost every con and pissed everyone off....

I think they shipped him off to the looney bin or something...

Yes.

In fact, if you have a winning video, and if you submit it everywhere, then you will win the admiration of everyone.

Myu your sig is too big. The max height is 200 pixels.

I would love to show one of my vids at a convention. If only their was more than one convention a year that I could get to without going to another state, and if only that con was actualy good, which it isnt :?

If by "200" you mean "80 (combined)", then yes. :P

But only for a limited audience. That's why, if I have what I think is a con-worthy AMV on my hands, I'll send it to two cons at once (sometimes three).
