it's automatically in the running for nominations. then the top 5 nominees for each award category gets listed for the actual voting.

Most Improved is the worst category ever.

As far as I'm concerned, nearly everyone has improved in some way; and the most who have improved are bountiful and nearly impossible to account for. It's so much more opinionated than the other categories to the point that it loses so much of its plausibility.

Hell, I could say I'm most improved, but how am I going to prove this over anyone else?

For each category, you'll be given a list of qualifying videos or creators. You can then choose the ones you want to see nominated. Those that get the most nominations at the end of the nomination period make the cut and are then voted on for the final award.
